POST TYPE: BASIC
Food is the basis of life. We are what we eat.
Food is our source of energy and every part of our body needs it. Food contains various nutrients necessary for our bodies to grow and regenerate, as well as for all other vital functions.
Nutrients in food are divided into some important categories that have been classified by scientists such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals.
All food contains these nutrients in different proportions.
Of course, most of us have heard about these categories of nutrients and we learned about them in elementary school as children.
I forgot to mention water. It is also very important and I will dedicate an entire article to her.
Here I won't study and analyze each of nutrients categories and give advice on what and how much to eat because I am not an expert. Also I don't like writing long texts full of various information in which you can just get lost.
I have read many times what each individual nutrient does and contributes to human body and these kind of facts are interesting. I also think that reading and practicing how many nutrients to take on a daily basis is like trying to control when the sun will come out or the clouds will go away.
Maybe we should even start counting
how many times a day we will inhale and
exhale air.
Life is too short to worry about everything!
I only know one of the important facts, which is that lack of nutrients increases the risk of various diseases. Macronutrient and micronutrient deficiencies lead to death.
Researchers believe that humans can survive about 3 weeks without food and several days without water.
Here you can read in more detail how long we can live without food: https://www.healthline.com/health/food-nutrition/how-long-can-you-live-without-food#summary
By listening to our body, we can find out if we are hungry which means eating when we feel hungry. Studies suggest always to eat at the same time several meals a day. It's hard to keep track of those two things, eating when we're hungry and eating at the same time every day. I found myself in the middle and I really eat when I feel hungry, but I don't strictly stick to the same time. I try to make it around the same time.

To conclude, food gives us energy for daily activities such as walking, running, sports as well as for all daily activities. Food protects us, repairs the body and gives strength to the body to defend against disease. "We are what we eat" is not a stupid statement.
With proper nutrition, we can control many diseases and conditions. Nature has taken care of everything, we just need to open our eyes and do a little research.
